Czech Schools without Borders and November17, 1989
In Paris, the Czech school commemorated this important date in modern history of the Czech Republic-the uprising against communist rule.
The children had a chance to see a movie that was produced by young people ages 11 -14 about life under communism. They also saw a short film depicting the uprising itself and heard the famous song “Prayer for Marta”.
After viewing the films the children were encouraged to paint and draw various posters and consequently they put together an exhibition of their work. They also had a chance to meet the poet Petr Skarlant.
