The third aesthetic group gymnastic World Championship.
    Aesthetic group gymnastic for girls and women is a natural movement, allowing to express emotions, creative ability, aesthetic conception by rhytmical and dancing compositions.
    One group for a competition, included 6 or 10 ladies, show an exercise on the special place 13 on 13, covered by carpet. A composition is like a spectacle, where everything: the main idea, music, expression and creation, connects all gymnasts to one unity. The sense of social exercise is synchronous practice of different gymnasts, doing a certain elements in the short time period. A music must reply to rhytm of the composition and dynamic of gymnasts. Aesthetic gymnastic was born in Finland 100 years ago and had become a competition discipline in 1950. The first Finish National Championship was held in 1991 and the international one took part in 1996 for the first time. But the most important historical event was held four years later. The first World Championship of such beautiful ladies sport took part in Helsinki in April 2000. The next year the capital of Estonia-Tallin welcomed the second Championship in June. Sokols teams participated in the both of tournaments. The third World Championship ESG was organised by Czech Sokol Community, celebraiting the 140 date of foundation that time. The competition had started on Friday 21 of June at Praha Sokol Hall, where it could be seen 10 flags of the countries-participants. The tribune were full of spectators.
    22 teams from Austria, Canada,Czech Republic, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Russia, Slovakia came to Praha. After the opening ceremony, when the Czech National anthem was played, the first round of the tournament had started. After the selection 8 teams of Finland, Russia, Estonia, Czech , Austria got a chance to compete in Saturday final. The Finish team "Dinamot" won the gold. The silver and bronze medals went to Russia. The best Czech squad Sokol Ostrava-Haviřov was at 7 place. One of gymnasts from Canada had taken a special prize. All teams showed their professional skill during Saturday-evening Gala-Concert.
