I am researching Czech Christmas customs, both ;modern and those ages past. While I have a welth of information on most topics, there is one that has me stumped. I´ve found references to an old custom observed while Christmas caroling. The boys would carry a pole with an illuminated star at the top of it while were caroling. This represented the Star of Bethlehem.
Can you help me find any information about this particular topic? Each year I host a Czech Christmas party where we carry out all of the old customs. I would like to construct such a pole and add the custom to the festivities this year.Obviously, I would need drawing of the object in order to re-create it.
If you don´t have the information personally, could you point me in the right direction?
Many thanks in advance for your kind help.
